BioE2E's Funding Fair - Presenter Abstract

Presentation Abstract

The SBIR grant program can provide a significant source of funding to help get new companies started and achieve their corporate goals. You need a view of the various agencies and programs to see which is the best fit for your project. Chances of success can vary but a strategic plan can help you increase your chances. Remember the SBIR program goal is commercialization; it is not meant to support 'just' cool science. We recommend that you start thinking about a commercialization plan early, even though Phase I is needed to tested the feasibility of your idea. This will be key to how you present your overall goal for the project. Remember, your strategy must consider the opportunity cost and a source of the real money and business during and after SBIR.
