Scott Minick, Venture Partner, Arch Ventures

Scott Minick is a Venture Partner with ARCH, joining the firm in
1998. From 1995 until 1998, Mr. Minick was director, President and
Chief Operating Officer of SEQUUS Pharmaceuticals, a fully
integrated, public biopharmaceutical company. From 1994 to 1995, he
served as a director, interim President, and CEO of
OncoTherapeutics, a private biotechnology company. Prior to that,
Mr. Minick co-founded and was a director, President, and CEO of LXR
Biotechnology. Mr. Minick led LXR from startup through its IPO.
>From 1981 to 1993, he was an executive of Baxter Healthcare,
olding various leadership positions in device, service, and
diagnostics businesses, most recently as the President of the Latin
America/Pacific Rim business unit of Baxter Diagnostics. Mr. Minick
serves as Chairman of Xcyte Therapies and is a board director for
FastTrack Systems, MedVantx, and First Genetic Trust. He serves as
a board observer for XenoPort and Vascular Architects.
He received his postgraduate training in neurobiology at the Salk
Institute and his M.B.A. from Northwestern University.

Bryan Roberts, PhD, Partner, Venrock

Bryan Roberts joined Venrock in 1997 and is now a General Partner
involved with the firm's activities in healthcare based in Menlo
Park, CA. Prior to joining Venrock, Bryan worked at Kidder Peabody
& Co., Inc. in investment banking. Bryan is responsible for
Venrock's investments in Illumina and Nanosys, and currently serves
on the boards of several private companies including Athena health,
Biospect, Concurrent Pharmaceuticals, First Genetic Trust,
Microbia, Surface Logix and Xenoport.
Bryan received his Ph.D. in Chemistry and Chemical Biology at
Harvard University and graduated from Dartmouth College, where he
obtained a B.A. in Chemistry.

Dennis Fernandez is Managing Partner of Fernandez & Associates LLP, a leading Patent Strategy firm in Silicon Valley. Dennis is a Registered U.S. Patent Attorney, as well as a former Venture Capitalist at Walden and Vertex Management. He received his law degree from Suffolk University, and Electrical Engineering Degree from Northwestern University. Fernandez & Associates LLP specializes in developing defensive and offensive patent strategies for early-stage biotechnology and semiconductor technologies.
