Dr. Jayasuriya is a life science venture capitalist. She is founding partner of a new life Science fund, an affiliate fund of Draper Fisher jurveston, called "LifeScience-India", investing in US companies that are leveraged by performing core strategic functions in India. She was previously a partner with Skyline Ventures in Palo Alto, and prior to that with the German - US venture capital firm TVM, in San Francisco.
Dr. Jayasuriya's expertise consists of a unique combination of business, basic science and medical knowledge. Her prior positions include VP-Corporate development at Genomics Collaborative Inc., and Vice President, Global Drug Development at Hoffman-La Roche for opportunistic infections in AIDS and Transplantation.
Dr. Jayasuriya received a BA from Harvard summa cum laude, and an MD and PhD (in Microbiology and Molecular Genetics) from Harvard Medical School. She interned in Pediatrics at Boston Children's Hospital and received an MBA with distinction from Harvard Business School. She also has a M. Phil. in pharmacology from the University of Cambridge, England.

Dr. Manian has been a distinguished contributor to the Silicon Valley entrepreneurial community for the last three decades. At present, Dr. Manian is focused on ReaMetrix, which he founded in May of 2003. ReaMetrix is committed to becoming the leading provider of easy-to-use assay solutions that increase reliability and consistency, expand the capabilities of proprietary technology platforms, increase the experimental efficiency and at the same time bring affordable solutions to address needs in India and other developing nations.
Dr. Manian is a co-founder and director of Quantum Dot Corporation and a co-founder of SurroMed Corporation, both of which are privately held. He was the founder and chairman of Biometric Imaging, Inc. which was acquired by Becton Dickinson in February 1999. Prior to founding Biometric Imaging, Inc., Dr. Manian founded both Lumisys and Molecular Dynamics in June 1987and was their founder chairman and CTO. Lumisys went public in 1995 and was acquired by Eastman Kodak in December of 2000. Molecular Dynamics went public in 1993 and subsequently was acquired by Amersham in 1998. Dr. Manian founded Digital Optics Corporation in 1980, an optical instrumentation and systems development company that was acquired by the publicly traded Matrix Corporation in 1984.
An expert in the design of electro-optical systems, Dr. Manian holds more than 35 patents, many of which have resulted in successful commercial products. Additionally, Dr. Manian has authored more than 30 peer reviewed scientific publications. He has been recognized through several awards for his contributions as an educator, inventor and an entrepreneur. In February 1999 the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences awarded a Technical Academy Award to Dr. Manian for advances in digital cinematography. He has a B. S. in Physics from the University of Madras, an M. S. in Applied Optics from the University of Rochester, and a Ph. D. in mechanical engineering from Purdue University. He was a faculty member of the University of Rochester's Institute of Optics for four years, teaching courses in optical fabrication and testing, optical instrumentation and holography.

Lisa A. Conte is the CEO of Napo Pharmaceuticals, which she
founded in 2001. Prior thereto, she founded Shaman Pharmaceuticals,
Inc., a natural product pharmaceutical company, in 1989. From 1987
to 1989, Ms. Conte was a Vice President at Technology Funding,
Inc., a venture capital firm where she was responsible for the
analysis and management of health care industry investments. From
1985 to 1987, she conducted risk and strategy audits at Strategic
Decisions Group, a management consulting firm.

Sanuj K. Ravindran, MD Director Burrill and Company

Dr. Ravindran, a practicing physician, joined Burrill & Company in July of 2003 and is involved with sourcing and evaluating new investment opportunities across the life science spectrum. Previously, Dr. Ravindran worked in the Healthcare Investment Banking Group at Merrill Lynch where he assessed financing and M&A candidates for a variety of biotechnology and pharmaceutical clients. Dr. Ravindran is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and completed his residency training at Jefferson University Hospital. Complementing his clinical experience, Dr. Ravindran was previously an NCI Research Fellow at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, and has published work in a variety of clinical disciplines. Dr. Ravindran received a BA with Honors from Northwestern University, an MD from Jefferson Medical College, and an MBA from The Kellogg School of Management, where he was a Rothschild Scholar.

Mr. Rassiwalla spent the last three years as a member of the investment team at Domain Associates, a top tier healthcare venture capital firm with $1.4 billion under management. At Domain, Mr. Rassiwalla assessed approximately 1,000 business plans a year, performed diligence on attractive life science opportunities, and worked with Domain portfolio companies. Through this process he became acquainted with the clinical development needs of small to mid-size biopharmaceuticals and the benefits India could offer these companies. Prior to Domain he spent six months working as a life science investment banker on the West Coast. Mr. Rassiwalla graduated magna cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania with a degree in bioengineering, mathematics, and a concentration in life science entrepreneurship.

Hari founded 3LOGi Capital an emerging Private Equity Fund focused on Asian Healthcare space along with Anula Jayasuriya earlier this year. Prior to this, he was a consultant with McKinsey & Company, one of the premier management consultancies in the world. During his stint at McKinsey, Hari has primarily worked with life sciences businesses in the US, Europe, and India on a variety of issues ranging from corporate strategy, mergers & acquisitions, product-market strategy, R&D productivity, organizational effectiveness, and operations improvement. Prior to joining McKinsey, Hari worked as a scientist for 5 years in the Pharmaceutical Products Division of Abbott Laboratories, USA. He has a MBA from J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management, Northwestern University, USA, and a M.S. in Chemical Engineering (biotech specialization) from Illinois Institute of Technology, USA.
