Philippe J. Goix, Ph.D.

Prior to joining Singulex, Philippe Goix was the founder of Guava Technologies, Inc., where he held successive positions as President and CTO.
Dr. Goix founded Guava in June 1997 and led the company as it established a presence in the life science market. Under his leadership, Guava assembled industry-leading executives, raised capital to develop its proprietary technology, defined a strategy to commercialization, and identified a very strong demand for future products in the life science marketplace.
In the summer of 2001, Guava launched its products to the life science market and in 21⁄2 years of commercial history doubled revenues every year, passing the $10 million revenue level in 2003. The company successfully raised several rounds of VC financing to build its manufacturing, sales, customer support, and R&D infrastructures. The company's valuation increased 70-fold during Dr. Goix's tenure.
Prior to this seven-year experience, Dr. Goix worked for more than 15 years in the field of laser analytical devices applied to fluid mechanics. He worked at CNRS in France, as a charge de recherche at Sandia National Laboratories, and at Stanford University as a scientist, where he developed sophisticated laser-based diagnostic tools to investigate complex fluidics systems. Dr. Goix holds a doctorate in physics from University of Rouen, France and an MBA from the University of San Francisco.
Ellen Berg, Ph.D.
Chief Scientific Officer, BioSeek Inc.
Dr. Berg has over 18 years of research experience in pathophysiologic mechanisms of inflammation and immunity. Her expertise in complex cell-based biological assays led to the development of the company's proprietary BioMAP ® technology for rapid target and lead validation. Prior to founding BioSeek, Inc., Dr. Berg was at Protein Design Labs, Inc. where she was involved in the discovery and development of therapeutic antibodies for treatment of inflammatory diseases. Dr. Berg holds a Ph.D. from Northwestern University and was a postdoctoral fellow at Stanford University where she was supported by fellowships from the American Cancer Society and the Stanford Cancer Biology Program, and served as a Special Fellow of the Leukemia Society of America. Dr. Berg holds several patents in the fields of inflammation biology and cell adhesion and has authored over 50 publications in peer-reviewed journals.
Gajus Worthington
President, CEO, and Co-Founder, Fluidigm Berg, Ph.D.
Mr. Worthington has led Fluidigm since its inception in early 1999. Since that time, Fluidigm has successfully demonstrated a broad range of applications on its technology platform (multilayer soft lithography); recruited experienced and successful leadership at every level of the organization; developed and commercialized a high growth and high value first product; built a fully-integrated commercial organization including R&D, manufacturing, marketing, and worldwide sales and support and; raised over $78M in capital at ever-increasing valuations. Prior to founding Fluidigm, Gajus held a variety of engineering, operations and marketing roles at Actel Corporation, a successful integrated circuit company. Mr. Worthington received his undergraduate degree in Physics and a Masters degree in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University.
